I am sitting here typing this while still at school. By day 3 I have become tired and not as excited about work (not that I was ever excited but anyways...)...I'm finding new problems or issues every day with my 7th and 8th grade program at FIU. Not to mention the fact that there is something very, very wrong with 7th grade boys. and i'm serious, they need to come up with some sort of pill you give 7th grade boys to make them...well...not 7th grade boys because they are horrible. i am now dreading the day my son turns 12...ugh. of course whatever teacher they had prior to my arrival did nothing with them and had no control so they are testing me to see how i handle things. needless to say they were not very happy with me today. if you can imagine, picture me sitting at one of those 1/2 hexagon tables they usually put together to make a full hexagon and surrounded by 4 little (and when i say little i mean little...they havent exactly hit their growth spurt yet) boys that i made pull up random desks to my table so i could monitor them because they are horrible children (i am being over-dramatic here). and by horrible i mean throwing candy at each other (nerds to be exact), throwing paper on the floor, getting up and walking over to someone else just to punch them in the arm, talking in "outdoor voices" (yes I ACTUALLY have to use that terminology with them) etc, etc, etc. so as they are sitting crowded around my table they continue to say innapropriate stuff to each other and not do what they were supposed to. So i had a student go get their parent contact info from my supervisor and sat and began calling parents on MY cell phone using MY minutes during class to fill them in on the actions of their beloved children. Once i was done explaining it to them I waited for their response and would say "oh, and they're sitting right here would you like to talk to them?" Let me tell you just how gratifying it is to see their little mortified faces as they get reprimanded by their parents over the phone in front of the whole class. :) Sure did make me feel a bit better, and honestly thats all i really give a crap about! so yeah, i'm exhausted and aggravated but those little children i call students will be on their best behavior by the end of next week. time for me to go pick up the baby...yay, the day is over!

Wow, your classroom tactics make you sound like a real grown-up! Not that raising a child hasn't done that as well...but still.
Hi from Miami Beach :)
lmao! i love it! you are NOT a friendly teacher but I think it's great. you can't cuddly with the fatty so the children must suffer lol
