Tuesday we went to Fairchild Gardens with Lindsay and Amelia to walk around. They had increadible pieces of art scattered about the gardens by Litchenstein, Chihuly and Botero. I really enjoyed the Litchenstein and Chihuly but Botero isnt exactly my "style" but it was great to see them none the less. The babies had a great time strolling around the gardens but the mom's were a little hot...at 90 degree's and sunny it was a tad warm being that is is STILL FEBRUARY!!! but it was still fun. We took Little E and Amelia out of the strollers for a picture op on some chairs shaped like butterflies...neither seemed all that excited about the task but I was able to get a few good pictures anyways. Walking through the gift shop Little E saw a bumblebee teddy bear and laughed hysterically when i held it up for him...needless to say it just had to be purchased and we are now the proud owner of a $15 stuffed bee that i'm sure will get lost or ruined somewhere down the road. At least we didnt fall victim to the pink flamingo puppet stuffed animal that Amelia did or we'd be out a whopping $36!

Work
So after being home 6 wonderful months with my son I must actually return to work. Bleh...I'm not sure I remember how to be a productive member of the workplace in which I must enlighten the minds of our youth....all i know that I can do at the moment is dangle brightly colored toys in front of Little E's face...I'm not sure dangling a geometry book in front of a students face will actually get them to learn..I will have to come up with another approach I guess. Going back to work also means that I must now remember how to get up and out of bed at 5am....and out of the house by 6:15 or so hopefully. I am so accustomed to getting up at 7ish and maybe taking a shower everyother day or so (one of the perks of being a SAHM) unless I actually had plans to leave the house and then I did actually make myself presentable for the outside world. So starting next monday i must shower and get dressed and do my hair and makeup and make mylunch and drive the 45 minutes to work. and thats the easy part. I must then actually teach students how to do their favorite thing ever....MATH!!! ugh, i am SO not looking forward to this. But since we like to pay the mortgage and eat dinner and buy the baby food and other frivolous things of that nature I must go :(

Museum of Science Day Trip
We had planned to go to Vizcaya Gardens with friends yesterday to walk and explore but due to impending rain we changed our plans and went to the museum of science. it was a nice time (although for those of you who have been to Boston's museum of science this doesnt even come close). We looked at their new dinosaur exhibit which was nice and walked around the other exhibits as well. Here is Little E doing some archeological excavation with his protective eye wear and special brush.
Next sitting on the couch made up of dinosaur stuffed animals.....
Now staring at his friend Amelia....
And the best thing in the ENTIRE museum...the electricity ball.....We spent probably 20 minutes here as they stared at the beams of light and enjoyed the show.
We also went to their outdoor animal area where they got to pet an alligator...my friend Lindsay has pictures of that and they will be posted as soon as I have them.
All in all it was a nice way to spend the holiday on monday and we are looking forward to our next big day out!

Weekend with Grandma
The weekend was good. My mom came down to visit and we all had a nice time. Unfortunately the baby is still a bit to little to really get out and go do lots of "fun stuff" but we all survived. We went to the park on sunday and walked around and played on the playground (pictures will be forthcoming, hopefully later tonight). We went down the slides and sat on those horse thingys that bounce back and forth and Little E sat up in the grass and then with Papi's remote control truck....and by RC truck I mean a giant gas powered vehicle that can go upwards around 35 mph and WILL break your ankle should you decide to get in its way....we had a good time. SAturdy night after the baby was in bed me and the hubby got to go to dinner while my mom stayed home with the baby. I was all excited as this was the FIRST time we were going out alone without the baby where we werent going to some sort of party or other event with other people. Our first time alone....to talk and share each others company and revel in the silence. Unfortunately were were so tired our converstion stalled after "so what are you going to eat?" but it was nice none the less... of course it didnt help that we called ahead for seating but were still expected to wait 30 minutes anyways. I dont mind waiting...as long as thats what i'm expecting to do, but calling ahead should guarantee a wait time of no more than 10 minutes. the kicker was that a couple walked in directly behind us without calling ahead and had THE EXACT SAME WAIT TIME! why do you have call ahead seating if it doesnt make a difference?? so that added to the frustration but in the end it all worked out..we ate some food and then went home to bed.
On another note all of FLorida is under a tornado watch until 11pm...awesome. Hurricanes arent quite bad enough they decided to throw in a few tornados too. I've never actually seen a tornado and while I think it would be interesting to watch I would prefer them to grace someone else with their prescence...at least with hurricanes there is ample warning and shudders to protect the house...tornados just kind of creep up on you out of nowhere and hopefully you come out all right. Lets hope we see none of those tonight.

Untitled
Such an original title isnt it? ANyways, yesterday we went to my friend Lindsay's house so Little E could play with Amelia and we could do some scrapbooking (my new favorite hobby). The babies played but scrapbooking didnt exactly happen, oh well, better luck next time. We also worked on a Valentines surprise for daddy...but I wont give it away yet, I do want it to actually be a surprise! My mom is here for the weekend...should be fun although I'm not sure what we are going to do...we'll see. Have a fabulous weekend and I'll write once the weekend is over.

My Test, The Patriots, and Baby in a Box
So far so good at this blogging thing considering its my first time. Of course its easy to write today as the baby went to my mother in law's so that I can study for my certification test to get my professional teaching certificate. You would think that since I have my B.A. in mathematics this subject area test (Math for grades 6-12) would be easy, and it probably would have if I had taken it right out of college, however considering it has been, well, 5 years since I have even seen Calculus I am struggling a bit with some of the harder concepts on the exam (calculus, trig, and some of the geometry stuff where they expect me to remember how to find the volume and surface area of cones and other three dimensional objects that I dont remember). So i am baby free today, but I'm not sure how much studying I will actually get done as my mom is flying in tomorrow night and I really should clean the house.....should clean, and I will at least do the laundry (my husband has been asking me for a week to do it, he is out of work socks meaning he is wearing ridiculously big gym socks we bought in RI to keep his feet warm under his boots)...so I should do laundry. I would also like clean clothes, but its not as important for me considering i dont actually go to a job right now where I need to look good. Should do a lot of things today since there is no baby requireing my attention. We'll see what actually gets done!
So the pictures below are an assortment over the past week...yes, we put our son in a cardboard box. It was fun, and he looked cute standing in it. Also one from super bowl sunday all decked out in his Patriots gear. I dont really want to talk about the game as we all know how it turned out, and for those of you who know me well know that The Patriots and The Red Sox are everything to me...just under my son, husband and family/friends...although there are somedays and times where it seems like nothing else matters but the teams. And Super Bowl SUnday was one of those days. A friend of mine said she was heartbroken, that she felt like her boyfriend just broke up with her.....I think that is a perfect analogy as to how I felt when they lost...and it didntr make it any easier that I was in a room filled with anti-Patriots people. Maybe next year.
And the last picture is how little E has decided he likes to sit in his bouncy chair now.....he rolls himself over in the chair and then fusses when he realizes he's stuck. Yesterday I let him struggle for awhile to try and figure it out and he eventually scooted himself all the way to the bottom of the chair and fell onto the floor...luckily not a long way to go so there were no tears.

Any Suggestions?
I am looking for suggestions on how to make this blog more appealing...new layout/format/whatever and how i might go about doing any or all of the above...keeping in mind I am a bit slow in learning new computer related things as my free time is seriously limited to nap time as bed time is my time to watch tv/make dinner/ and converse with the husband...or in some cases just go to bed myself depending on the activities of the day and how cranky and/or impossible the little one has been.

We started a blog!
So after reading a friend's blog I decided to copy her idea as I have done with a few of her other ideas...thanks Lindsay! This will probably take me a little while to figure out as my free time is limited and since our computer is convienently located in the baby's closet it is difficult to access it while he is sleeping in fear or waking him up....so I will do my best. Hopefully this will be a good way to keep you all informed of Little Elier's progress and accomplishments in a better format than emails. You should see more posts coming soon!
